Awesome Authors

I read tons of books, obviously. But there are some authors that really stand out, or that I keep coming back to. These would be the awesome authors I'm referring to. Here's a list of them, and links to their websites and/or blogs. Enjoy!

(+) Sophie Kinsella -- I love this woman! Admitted, her books aren't strictly YA...but they're so easy to understand that any teen could read them. She writes British chick-lit and she is one of the funniest authors I have ever read. Her books NEVER fail to cheer me up! Her heroines are extremely lovable and awesome. I'm a loyal Kinsella fan.

(+) Rick Riordan -- He writes mythical action/adventure series that some people say are for pre-teens...but I personally know a bunch of teenagers AND adults who enjoy his books, so we know what I think about labeling people! Anyway, his books are really fun. Especially if you enjoy mythology!

(+) Simone Elkeles -- Simone writes brilliant YA novels. Most of them are romance, but a few are comedies (is that what we call funny books? I'm not sure...). She's an amazing writer and she's definitely not cheesy. Her books can also get really emotional, in a realistic way, so that's another good point. It's one of the many reasons I love her books.

(+) Lauren Barnholdt -- Her chick-lit books are amazing! They're smart and funny and have great plots. They're a great mix of funny and serious, and her heroines are always adorable (in my opinion). Also, her books always have cute covers. Bonus!

(+) Jen Calonita -- Jen writes brilliant and hilarious YA novels that everyone---girls AND boys---should read. I feel like she doesn't get as much recognition, and I think she should, because I have loved every single one of her books so far.

(+) Dan Brown -- Okay, okay, I know Dan Brown isn't strictly YA...actually, he ISN'T YA. But I know TONS of teenagers who love his books! They're intelligent, thought-provoking, and brilliant action escapades through Europe and in and out of governments. They're like amazing action movies in book form. Who doesn't love that?

(+) Janette Rallison -- She writes probably the best chick-lit books I have ever read. They're hilarious (like collapsing-with-laughter hilarious) and sassy and so much fun! A lot of them also features magic (like fairies and stuff), which is always fun in my opinion---although not ever book has magic. Just a few. Anyway, I adore her writing and am probably going to end up buying all of her books, if that tells you something!
